Jimmie Lee

BIO

Jimmie Lee, a native Mississippian, penned his first stage play, “No Good Comes to Those Who Do Wrong”, while in high school. It was a short production that focused on the ups and downs of friendship. During his matriculation at Jackson State University, Jimmie wrote, directed, and produced the play “Dangerously in Love”. This theatrical production portrayed a profound look at situations the surrounding community and society endure and through the use of comedy it offered solutions in order to empower wise decisions. The production “Dangerously in Love”, also touched on the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases.

Jimmie is gearing up to launch a revised version of “No Good Comes to Those Who Do Wrong”. Its mature sequence of events focuses on a young woman’s struggle to prevent reaping the harvest of her wrong doings. This play will also expound on social issues such as verbal and physical abuse within relationships and spousal rape.
Jimmie says that this new production shows growth in his writing abilities, and he anticipates that the audience will leave feeling motivated and inspired, by the action of the characters.

Jimmie currently works as an Educator. He is also, a member of Anderson United Methodist Church. His ultimate goal is to travel and impact the nation through his continuing endeavors of stage play productions.

“No Good Comes to Those Who Do Wrong”

It’s the age-old tale of karma; what goes around comes around. This play shows the unfavorable results of what happens when you knowingly do wrong. Its mature sequence of events focuses on a young woman’s struggle to prevent reaping the harvest of her wrong doings. This play will also expound on social issues such as verbal and physical abuse within relationships and spousal rape.

Kelly, the main character of this production is very much in love with her fiancé’ Dre. As she prepares for her long awaited wedding, she is haunted by her past, which has a direct correlation to her future. Her sister Kimberly, and their friends Jade, Amelia and Jocelyn all share and deal with the crude reality of single life. They all have different outlooks on life. Kimberly, the sister of Kelly, prefers dating married men and has no problem being the other woman, while Amelia enjoys having dispassionate sexual encounters. The loveable Jocelyn is in a desperate search to find a husband, has turned to God in anticipation of finding the man of her dreams. Jade takes on the role of the clever gold digger, who is turned off by the thought of marriage, and has no plans of settling down. This urban, inspirational, dramatic stage play is filled with many surprises, exhilarating twists, and life lessons. It will take its audience on a journey that will keep them guessing and wanting more. All ends well through the power of prayer.
